Day 9 – TNT Network chased out of Scotland by Scots Guards
Sunday, July 24th, 2011Day 8 – Scots Guards finally catch up with TNT Network
Saturday, July 23rd, 2011After the incident in a castle on Skye earlier this week, the Scots guards have finally caught up with TNT Network in Stirling.
Unfortunately, it appears one of our Network Members has been imprisoned as a result. If anyone is able to supply bail money, please let us know. Mug shots below.
Meanwhile, the rest of TNT have enjoyed a full day in Stirling. We were unable to barter down the prices in Stirling Castle from the extortionate £13, so we knocked down the price on entry to the Old Town Jail (which is highly recommended if anyone is near).
Shortly after, we were taken around the local grave yard by a local Ghost (David Kinnaird) who was highly amusing, and who was also our tour guide of the Old Town Jail. Kindly after the Ghost Walk, he then escorted us to the chip shop in the Stirling City Centre. By the way, if you’re interested in buying one of his books, put his name into Amazon.
To finish off the last few hours of our tour of Scotland, we’re just heading to the Falkirk Wheel in the dark to take some pictures.
Day 7 – What TNT Network get up to after 6 days of no sleep, thousands of midgi bites, and a few beers
Friday, July 22nd, 2011Day 7 – Back to the mainland
Friday, July 22nd, 2011Today we’ve driven back to the mainland from Skye and have stopped via Glencoe before proceeding back to Stirling where we will stay for two nights before taking the long drive back to Wales.
Due to the weather, it’s another BBQ tonight, with a final meal out tomorrow night.
By the way, whilst hunting around Glencoe we found Hamish the Squirrel, who we’ve added to our large collection of Network Mascots.
Day 6 – TNT Network Hike involves big yellow taxi (again) as clockwork is forced to abandon climb
Thursday, July 21st, 2011Day 6 – TNT Network Hike involves big yellow taxi as clockwork is forced to abandon climb.
Na, just kidding (again) – but we’re fairly certain we’re being stalked by Mountain Rescue. There again, they probably know what we are like!
To say we weren’t broken would be the biggest of all lies. That is one HELL of a mountain to climb, and practically every bone and muscle in my body has gone on strike. Whilst I (Clockwork) had a panic attack while rock climbing the pinacle (a crag on the top of the mountain with a 2500ft+ sheer drop on both sides) it’s been a fairly good day, with very good weather.
However, it was only me (Clockwork) Pete and Francis who climed the mountain. The rest of the group done other things so I’ll get someone from there to post something when they get time tomorrow.
One thing is for certain though, we’re certainly not going to wake up during AM tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a few beers are in order, a quick BBQ, and then bed.
Day 6 – Another day, another mountain to climb
Thursday, July 21st, 2011Another early start, and another mountain to climb. Myself (Thomas), Francis and Pete have decided to climb Sgurr Dearg (a mountain in the South of Skye). This is slightly different to Ben Nevis though, as we actually have to climb this one so have packed a few ropes and climbing gear.
The rest of the group are staying at the camp site for a lazy day, and possibly a distillery visit, so hopefully there’ll be a bottle of whiskey by the time we get back after a hard day of climbing.
On a completely unrelated note, the scare crows on this island are completely screwed up scary, but I think my opinion is probably formed due to The Messengers II (The Scarecprow Film).
Day 5 – It’s stopped raining!
Wednesday, July 20th, 2011The rain has finally stopped and we have had a dry night of camping. There was a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights last night judging by how far we were North and the Aurora level, but annoyingly there was too much cloud.
We’re currently sitting in Tarbert Ferry Port waiting to get the ferry back to Skye. Hopefully the weather there is the same, just a bit warmer.
Hopefully, when we get back to the mainland, we can find another squirrel in the shops (our mascots for those of you who don’t know). We already have a name for him (Hamish), but we probably need to find a kilt for it too. Meanwhile, our other squirrels seem to be having fun:
Day 5 – Caption Competition
Wednesday, July 20th, 2011Day 4 – We fused the power
Tuesday, July 19th, 2011A day of no blog posts as we’ve only just managed to get the fuses replaced in the car. I told you it was a dodgy electric rig!
We’ve gotten the ferry to Harris today and will be staying here tonight and going back to Skye tomorrow. We’re currently on our way to the beach for some late lunch.
Photographs to come soon.
